is seeking an assistant director responsible for identifying, conceiving,
researching, writing/editing and providing creative direction for printed
and online materials and strategic communications including news releases,
newsletters and publications, University magazine content, and promotional
materials.
The assistant director reports
to the vice president for communications and works closely with faculty,
development and alumni groups, and many other communications office staff. A
bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, public relations, English
(writing) or related field with 3-5 years experience is required.
The ideal candidate is a
strong writer, strategic and creative thinker, and capable of working
independently. Experience in one or more of the following areas: higher
education communications, corporate communications, nonprofit
communications, public relations, news media or publications, is preferred.
